What is e-XTEND?

e-XTEND is an e-service introduced by ICA that allows a foreign visitor to apply for a one-time extension of his short term visit pass on ICA website ( http://www.ica.gov.sg )
 
Q2:
Who is eligible to apply for extension online?

A:
If you fulfill the following conditions, you can submit an application online:

a)
you are a national from these countries as listed here
b)
you have not previously obtained an extension of stay on this trip
c)
you wish to extend your stay for not more than 90 days from expiry of current short term visit pass
d)
your short term visit pass currently has a remaining validity of not less than 2 days, excluding Sunday and public holiday
e)
you will not return to Singapore within 5 days from the departure date of your current trip
Travellers who do not fulfill the above conditions would need to apply for an extension in person at the Visitor Services Centre (4th Storey) of the ICA Building.

When and how do I check on the application status?

A:
If you submit your application before 5pm today, the outcome of your application will be available after 5pm on the next working day. You can check the status of your application online via "Enquire Status" function by keying in your DE Card and travel document number or travel document number and travel document expiry date. Alternatively, you may call ICA Call Centre at 6391 6100 giving your DE card number and travel document number.
 
Q4:
Since there is no physical endorsement on my passport, what should I do if I am checked by the police/authority?

A:
You are advised to attach the approval slip to your passport if checked by the police and for departure.
 
Q5:
If the online application is rejected, can I try to submit another online application again?

A:
When you apply online, you have agreed that you will not seek further extension irrespective of the outcome of the online application. You should not submit another online application if your earlier application had been rejected since each application would have been processed carefully.

Please note that overstaying is an immigration offence in Singapore. If you overstay past the validity of your immigration pass, you may be subjected to a composition fine or prosecution in court.

What should I do if I lost the approval slip and Disembarkation/Embarkation card?

To facilitate your departure, you can print another approval slip via the Enquiry Function of the system by keying in your travel document number and the travel document expiry date.

Please be assured that Immigration officer will be able to check on the validity of your short term visit pass even if you do not have the approval slip and DE card on hand at the point of departure.
 
Q7:
I am a homeowner. How do I know whether the prospective tenant has a valid short term stay if no physical extension is given on the travel document?

Depending on their mode of extension, foreigners could either be holding a travel document with physical endorsement of the short term visit pass or an approval slip to indicate the new extended visit pass.

If the application for short term extension was made online, to verify the validity of the stay of a foreigner, you can go to ICA website (e-XTEND) and check through the Enquire Status function by keying in the DE Card and travel document number or travel document number and the travel document expiry date to check on the required extension record. Alternatively, you may call ICA Call Centre at 6391 6100 giving the foreigner's DE card number and travel document number.

If in doubt, homeowner may come down to Visitor Services Centre, Visit Pass Unit (4th Storey of ICA Building) during office hours, to make further enquiries.

If there is an error in the information that I have keyed in, will I be able to retrieve the application and re-submit it?

A:
e-XTEND prompts applicants to confirm their personal particulars before submitting their application. Hence, once 'submit' button is clicked on, applicants will not be able to make further changes to the details submitted.
 
Q9:
What should I do if e-XTEND hangs when I am entering my particulars into the system?

You can refresh the system and resubmit the application. If you suspect that your application has been submitted, please check the application status via "Enquire Status" function by keying in your DE Card and travel document number or travel document number and travel document expiry date. Alternatively, you may call ICA Call Centre at 6391 6100 giving your DE card number and travel document number.

Who needs to pay for applying extension online?

If the application is approved, an In-Principle Approval notice will be sent to applicant who are required to make payment of a visa fee. Payment can be made by Mastercard/Visa/Visa Electron/AMEX, or Internet Banking with a valid Internet Banking account with Citibank, DBS/POSB or UOB. Once the Payment transaction is successfully completed, applicant will be notified of his/her application status.

When should I make payment?

Payment has to be made within the stipulated time indicated on the In-Principle Approval notice or the application will be treated as withdrawn.

eNETS Credit (MasterCard or VISA credit card only)

eNETS Debit (DBS/POSB, UOB or Citibank only)

eNETS Internet Banking [A valid internet banking account with Citibank, DBS/POSB or UOB]

American Express [Any American Express (Amex) card]

The following cards are not accepted:-

    JCB cards

    Any other types of credit/charge cards

No NETS/cash payment are allowed for e-XTEND.

How do I make payment?

A: You may go to e-XTEND (url address https://www.extend.ica.gov.sg/index.xhtml) and click on Payment button to proceed to pay for the visa fee.

Please note that payment is non-refundable.
 
Q15:
What should I do if the validity of the In-Principle Approval notice has expired?

You are advised to leave on/before the expiry date of your existing visit pass.

Please note that overstaying is an immigration offence in Singapore. If you overstay past the validity of your immigration pass, you may be subjected to a composition fine or prosecution in court.
 
Q16:
Who are eligible to apply for an extension of stay up to 90 days?

Foreigners with family ties in Singapore (eg. spouse/siblings/parents/children/parents-in-laws of a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident) or are seeking medical treatment in Singapore are eligible to apply for extension of stay up to 90 days. Applicants are required to furnish original supporting documentary evidence in support of the application.

What are the original supporting documents to be produced?

Applicants who are required to report in person at the Visitor Services Centre (4th Storey), ICA Building, will be informed of the required documents to be produced when they check the status of their application online. The application will be rejected if the applicant is unable to produce any of the original required documents.

When do I need to submit the original documents?

A:
Applicants are required to submit their documents within the stipulated timeframe specified in the letter. If the original documents are not submitted within the stipulated time frame, the application will be treated as withdrawn. Applicants who wish to change their appointment date/time, are required to log on to ICA e-Appointment. Changes are subjected to availability.
